Chennai Super Kings were the first franchise to begin their preparatory camp for the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Skipper MS Dhoni and veteran batsman Suresh Raina were the first two to join the camp in a bid to get into the rhythm.

Notably, MS Dhoni has been out of action since India’s ouster from the ICC World Cup 2019 losing to New Zealand in the semifinal. Since then, there has been a lot of debates over his retirements as kept himself busy doing other things. On the other hand, Suresh Raina has also played very limited cricket since last IPL.

However, the camp had to close and they returned home amid the coronavirus pandemic outbreak. While the future of IPL 2020 hangs by the wire with BCCI yet to take a final call, there have been talks over the return of MS Dhoni in the national side. While a certain section of media has claimed that he is likely to retire this year, some of his close friends have claimed that the legendary cricketer is focused to make a comeback.

Suresh Raina, who has seen MS Dhoni from close quarters for a long time now, admitted that the latter looked in great shape in the nets. Recalling those two weeks, he also said that Dhoni had the hunger to success like of a youngster.

“It was a nice camp. I was there for two months but then this happened. Got to spend some time with Dhoni. He was batting so well in the nets, he had the hunger of a youngster. In one session, he batted for three hours at a stretch,” PTI quoted Raina as saying.

In conclusion, Suresh Raina opined that the debate on the future of IPL 2020 can surely wait now as mankind is in danger. The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh also donated Rs 52 lakhs for the COVID-19 sufferers in the country.
