Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni received a grand welcome on his return to the MA Chidambaram Stadium for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Out of action for almost eight months, Dhoni resumed training to gear up for the mega event. Arguably the greatest finisher world cricket has witnessed, the former India skipper is slowly getting into the groove to make a grand return to the game. 

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni along with Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav, and Murali Vijay have started training for the upcoming season. However, the full-fledged practice sessions will commence from March 19, ten days ahead of the tournament. Super Kings will begin their campaign against the defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in the first match of the season.

Since MS Dhoni’s arrival, the Chepauk stadium has witnessed massive turnouts to support their favourite ‘Thala’. The Yellow Brigade, known for being the most loyal fans in the competition have come to the stadium to support their skipper. The 38-year-old has also not disappointed his fans as he looked in a good rhythm with the bat playing the game he is known for. 

Meanwhile, a recent video shared by Star Sports, Dhoni can be seen hitting five back-to-back sixes, which has now gone viral on social media. Although it remains unclear whether MS Dhoni was hitting the shots against a bowler or a ball-machine but it is evident that the legendary cricketer has not lost his touch and is ready to light up the Chepauk Stadium.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, who has played 190 IPL matches (including two editions for Rising Pune Supergiants) will look to have a good IPL with a view to returning to the national side. The wicket-keeper batsman, who is in the twilight of his career can be a crucial campaigner for India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
