Sam Billings
Sam Billings, an English wicket-keeper batter, is at Delhi Capitals’ camp currently. Billings has been with England’s limited-overs squad also. Unfortunately, he has warmed the bench there also. He made his IPL debut in 2016. Playing for Delhi Daredevils, Billings brought up fifty on debut match. He then moved to CSK in 2008. He stretched his hands quite well there. But the already star-studded side could not give him the spotlight that he had deserved.
In 2021, after remaining unsold in the first round, his parent franchise, Delhi Capitals roped him in. The problem has been the same, where to fit him in? DC depend more on their core Indian players and sorted with their overseas slot. With Rishabh Pant having the gloves, and Steve Smith shouldering the batting line-up, Billings may not feature at all. Thus, he can be traded to RR, who are struggling with their foreign players pulling out of the tournament or sustain injury.
