Harbhajan Singh going unsold is one of the biggest surprises of the IPL 2021 auction The veteran Indian spinner was earlier released by CSK and was released from the contract after he missed the previous season. Harbhajan had joined Chennai Super Kings prior to the 2018 season of IPL for Rs 2 crore. Harbhajan Singh had played an instrumental role in helping CSK reach the final of IPL 2019 with 16 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 7.09.
Incidentally, reports had earlier surfaced the CSK has terminated his contract after he chose to skip the last edition of the tournament citing personal reasons. As per reports, the Super Kings are also ready to let go of senior leg-spinner Piyush Chawla and batsman Murali Vijay ahead of the new season to bolster their remaining purse for the player auction. They will have some serious business to do during the auctions to revive their squad and produce a good result in the upcoming season.
