MS Dhoni in all likeliness will play another IPL season with Chennai Super Kings. If reports in Cricbuzz are to be believed, CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan has indicated that they will retain the former Indian skipper for another season. There will be a total of 10 teams playing in the next IPL season. Two more teams will be added to the already existing eight teams.

His words at a recent India Cements Function while interacting with the fans indicated that the former Indian skipper is not ready to hang his boots just yet. His side has already qualified for the playoffs and is on the second position on the ladder.

Addressing his future, Dhoni announced the possible venue of his last match as a CSK player.

It was a commemoratory event for the 75th year of India Cements, the original owner of Chennai Super Kings, that an official confirmed the same to Cricbuzz.

“Of course, we are going to retain him. He will be there next year and who knows a few more years too. Nothing has been decided and all he said was that fans can see his farewell match in Chennai. There is no way to conclude that it will be next year itself,” the official, who was present at the virtual event, said the CSK official.

When it comes to farewell, you can still come and see me play for CSK and that can be my farewell game. So, you will still get that opportunity to bid me farewell. Hopefully, we will come to see Chennai and play my last game over there and we can meet fans there,” Dhoni said while interacting with fans during the 75th year celebrations of ‘India Cements’ held virtually.

MS Dhoni with the bat has a shadow of him in the past. He has managed to amass just 84 runs from 13 games so far in IPL 2021 and has an underwhelming strike rate of 97.67.
