Match 36 of IPL 2021 will see Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first tie of Saturday’s doubleheader at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Sharjah. DC are at the top of the table while Rajasthan hang in the fifth spot with eight points from as many games.
Both sides are coming from the back of a win and will be oozing with confidence when they take the field on Saturday. A win from Rajasthan would bring them in the fray for a top-four finish while Delhi will be eyeing for the top spot after Chennai Super Kings leapfrogged them on Friday night beating Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Both DC and RR have some quality players in their ranks and it is likely to go down the wire in Sharjah.
On that note, let’s take a look at 3 key battles from DC vs RR tie to watch out for in MPL Fantasy Cricket:
#1. Sanju Samson – Axar Patel
The spotlight will be on RR captain Sanju Samson, who has been short of runs in recent times when his side plays DC. For Rishabh Pant & Co, the onus will be on left-arm spinner Axar Patel, to stop the devastating batter.
Meanwhile, so far, both these players have gone against each other on 10 occasions, where Sanju has managed to score only 51 runs while Axar Patel has got him out twice.
It will be interesting to see who comes out on top this time around.
#2. Rahul Tewatia – Kagiso Rabada
Rahul Tewatia’s firepower in the death overs has been an outstanding addition since the last season. The southpaw has the ability to play the long handle accumulating quick runs in the final overs.
Kagiso Rabada, who bowls in the death overs for DC will look to keep the RR all-rounder under check. So far, Rabada has got rid of the RR all-rounder twice in three meetings.
As a result, Rahul Tewatia will be tempered to take the Proteas fast bowlers to cleaners if they go up against each other.
#3. Rishabh Pant – Mustafizur Rahman
DC captain is at his absolute best when there is some pace in the wicket. Rishabh Pant will fancy his chances against the RR fast bowlers especially Mustafizur Rahman.
Pant enjoys a good strike rate of 165 against the Bangladesh fast bowler on five meetings. Mustafizur will be keen to dismiss the DC captain which can change the game in RR’s favour.
