Rohit Sharma opened the batting and scored 33 off 30 balls and added a 78-run opening stand before he was dismissed by Sunil Narine for the fifth time in the IPL and ninth time overall in T20 cricket.

Rohit Sharma eyed up a few records ahead of the start of this game and went past as many as three records. Here are all the records he broke during his knock.

Rohit Sharma’s Dream Run Against KKR Continues

1) 1000 Runs Against KKR

Rohit Sharma went past 1000 IPL runs against KKR and became the only player in the history of the tournament. He started on 982 runs against the side after his knock now stands at 1015 runs against the two-time IPL champions.

Most runs vs a team in IPL:

1015 Rohit Sharma vs KKR

943 David Warner vs PBKS

915 David Warner vs KKR

909 Virat Kohli vs DC

2) Third-Highest Run-Getter In IPL

Rohit after scoring 33 against KKR is now the third-highest run-getter in the IPL. He is now on 5509 and placed after Virat Kohli (

6081 runs) and Shikhar Dhawan (5619) being the first two. Suresh Raina (5,485 runs) sits fourth on the list followed by David Warner (5447).

3) First Player To Hit 100 Fours Against KKR

He started his knock with 96 fours against KKR and hit four fours during his knock taking the tally to 100 fours. Rohit fell after being well set to Sunil Narine and since then the scoring rate of Mumbai has lessened quite a bit.

Dismissed by a bowler most times in IPL:

7 MS Dhoni by Zaheer Khan

7 Virat Kohli by Sandeep Sharma

7 Rohit Sharma by Sunil Narine

Rohit during his innings struggled to run fast and even escaped a close chance of getting run-out.

” Feeling good. Looking forward to the game. Just one change; Anmol who played so well unfortunately misses out. Not a lot to be honest (on what he spoke about the last game). Certain basics of cricket that was missed, we need to do right. We have spoken about it and hopefully we can execute today. It is a good positive to have but I personally understand that every day is a new day. T20 is a format that you have to be good on that particular day” Rohit said at the toss.
