The 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), was suspended earlier this year because of the Covid-19 second wave. However, the IPL 2021 is all set to resume with a clash between the rivals Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. According to several sources, The match is scheduled to begin on September 19. Also about the venue, The first match of the second half of IPL 2021 will be played in Dubai.
Meanwhile, a total of three venues has been finalized for the completion of 31 matches of IPL 2021. The venues are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Adding to it Dubai is all set to host the finals of the marquee tournament on October 15.
Also On October 10, Dubai will host the first qualifier. Meanwhile On October 11 and 13 Sharjah is Scheduled to host Eliminator and second qualifier.

During the first half of IPL 2021, BCCI had been forced to postpone the IPL due to multiple Covid-19 cases occurring in the various franchises.
After the season was suspended indefinitely, the BCCI had in a press release asserted:
“The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting have unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect. The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff, and the other participants involved in organizing the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health, and well-being of all the stakeholders in mind.”

Reportedly it was told that BCCI will lose Rs 2,000 crore plus broadcast and sponsorship money, after the midway suspension of the IPL 2021.
Meanwhile, the decision of completion of India Premier League in UAE was taken in a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the BCCI. After the meeting, the BCCI in a press release said:

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year.”
