Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman are in line to get their respective NOC’s after England’s proposed to Bangladesh was postponed. The BCB have now expressed their interest in sending their players to play in the remaining IPL season with the T20 World Cup almost knocking on the door. This comes as good news for their respective franchises Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.

The BCB had earlier denied giving NOC’s to the two cricketers saying that they would need them for international commitments. However, now with the England tour postponed, the two players will get enough match practice in the UAE leg with the T20 World Cup also to be played at the same venue.

”Yes, if they apply and if we don’t have any international commitment they can go and take part in IPL. We are yet to receive any official letter from them in this regard and if we get that, board will take a decision,” BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan told Cricbuzz on Tuesday.

Bangladesh were to host England for three ODIs and as many T20Is which would have been ideal preparation for the two sides ahead of the T20 World Cup. A report in the UK edition of the Telegraph confirmed that the ECB is willing to postpone the Bangladesh tour.

The report further said that England’s tour to Bangladesh was clashing with the second half of the IPL 2021 which forced the board to rethink their strategy and postpone the tour for now.

The T20 World Cup begins on October 17. The start of the Super 12s – when England enter the tournament – is expected to be on October 24. Meanwhile, ahead of the T20 World Cup, England will tour Pakistan for a two-game T20I series, on October 14 and 15 which is expected to be their final dress-rehearsal before the T20 World Cup.
