Chennai Super Kings might have lost the game against Punjab Kings but all was not lost for Deepak Chahar. After the game, he proposed his girlfriend Jaya Bharadwaj who said yes. Thus despite losing the game of cricket, he won in the game of love. CSK, meanwhile after qualifying for the playoffs has lost their last three games.
Deepak Chahar’s girlfriend received a grand welcome after returning to the team hotel. CSK’sofficial Instagram handle uploaded a video of Jaya getting a welcome to remember.
Deepak walked to the stands immediately after the game concluded, to propose to his girlfriend, who was also present in the stands to watch the match. Chahar put a ring on his girlfriend’s finger and the couple was all smiles as they celebrated their engagement.

Meanwhile, CSK skipper MS Dhoni spoke about looking forward to the playoffs now that their league stage is done. As of now they finish second on the points table with DC and RCB yet to play their final game.

“We had a few bad games 2 out of 3 and one we felt like we could have a comeback and that’s part and parcel d in leagues like these, you have to be at your best. Motivation is not a factor, the guys are highly motivated and maybe we need to tune up slightly as to what needs to be done and also a few tosses if they had gone our way. It would have looked worse winning toss and batting on that wicket and I felt the wicket changed a bit, it was a bit challenging but it was a good wicket” said Dhoni.
KL Rahul also reflected on his innings. Chasing 135 to win, Rahul finished unbeaten on98 and missed the century by just two runs. He played some lovely shots on a track where the batters from both teams struggled to get runs. He hit seven fours and eight sixes in his innings.
” It was just what the team needs. I know there has been a lot of talk in the last 3-4 years about my strikerate and me playing slowly. But only my team and I know what’s my role and what my responsibility is. I tried to play the role the team requires off me every game. I feel I am letting the team down if I play the kind of cricket I want to play. It’s always team first for me. That’s how I have grown up and that’s how I will continue to play. Today the team needed this. I was happy that I could play this kind of a knock” said the Punjab Kings skipper on his knock.
