Sunrisers Hyderabad won only their second game in IPL 2021 as they beat Rajasthan Royals on Monday by seven wickets. This win keeps the playoff hopes alive of teams like Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings with games to follow. Meanwhile, David Warner after playing the first two games of the UAE leg was dropped once again from the playing XI.

Jason Roy playing his first game for SRH scored 60 off 42 balls set up the chase for Sunrisers which was taken to the shore by skipper Kane Williamson. The SRH skipper scored 51 off 41 balls and along with Abhishek Sharma (21 off 16) shard an unbeaten 48-run stand to take their team home chasing 166 to win.

This was SRH’s first win after five consecutive losses IPL 2021. Meanwhile, David Warner’s lack of form was considered a big reason behind SRH’s downfall in IPL 2021. Mathematically they are out of contention for the playoff race but can spoil the party for a few franchises.

Meanwhile, during the game, David Warner hinted at possibly leaving Sunrisers Hyderabad at the end of IPL 2021. His words further explained the fact that he might well have played his last game for the Orange Army.

David Warner’s Comments Starts Speculations

He has scored 195 runs from 8 games so far in IPL 2021. This is his worst season in the IPL. Previously he has won the Orange Cap five times all with this franchise. He has crossed the 500-run mark six times between 2014-2020. He also led SRH to their only IPL title in 2016 scoring a mammoth 848 that season.

Meanwhile, current SRH skipper Kane Williamson helped his side earn their second win of this IPL season.

“It’s a good feeling, some real clarity in roles as well and it’s nice to be back to winning ways. There were a couple of periods of play that were quite significant and we closed nicely with the ball and to get off the start with the bat like that and it was never easy, had to weather some storms with the ball holding up. It’s nice to finish with a win” said Williamson at the post-match presentation.
