The Kolkata Knight Riders started off the IPL 2022 season brilliantly, winning three of their first four matches. However, they lost momentum, thereafter, thanks to their constant chopping and changing policy. Currently, they have 10 points from 12 matches, with five wins and seven losses.
The Shreyas Iyer-led team will play two more matches in the league stages. They will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Lucknow Super Giants in their last two encounters. The franchise needs to win both matches, which will take them to 14 points. However, this will not guarantee them a playoff spot, as they will have to rely on the results of other teams’ matches. KKR also needs to keep an eye on its NRR, which is – 0.057 at the moment.

Chennai Super Kings plays against the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, and the Rajasthan Royals in their final three matches. Just like KKR, they also need to win all those remaining games. However, in comparison, Chennai has a positive NRR, which gives them a better chance of qualifying for the playoffs.
