Jofra Archer will not be available to play for the Mumbai Indians this season due to an injury. However, it seems to be a good investment for the Mumbai Indians, keeping the future in mind.

Jofra has played 35 matches in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals, taking 46 wickets at an average of 21.33. Speaking about playing for the Mumbai Indians, the pacer recalled the auction day, adding that he is excited to get started and win matches for the franchise.

In a video uploaded by the Mumbai Indians on Youtube, Jofra said, “My phone started to go off. Back-to-back messages. I think some guys from the Mumbai team ended up calling me. When I saw calls from +91, I knew exactly what had happened. I was really excited as it is a great franchise. Really excited to get started and start winning some games and trophies.

He added that his mindset is to once again prove himself, coming on the back of an injury. Jofra said:

“The change of team and atmosphere is really good because then you get to challenge yourself again because sometimes it is okay to operate in your comfort zone. But once you have gone away and began to perform again in a different team then you can rate yourself.”

“It is like when Ronaldo left, many people said that he wasn’t going to be good outside of Spain. But he has proved himself wherever he has gone now and no one can doubt his skills. So it is the same mindset,” he added.
