The thousands of Kohli supporters who had flocked to the Wankhede Stadium were let down when Kohli got a thin edge that wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan safely pouched.
The on-field umpire did not rule that Kohli was out. But Mumbai Indians appealed the decision to overturn it and send the IPL’s top run-getter back to the pavilion as early as the first over of the game.

“You receive what you deserve. That’s how it should be, and that’s how it actually works”, according to Naveen’s post.
It is noteworthy that Virat Kohli supported Gujarat Titans against Lucknow Super Giants by posting Instagram stories praising players like Wriddhiman Saha and Rashid Khan, who excelled against the Lucknow team earlier in May.
