Many players have accrued quite a reputation for pre-event celebrations over time. On Saturday, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana added their names to that list when they were photographed celebrating early after only viewing one replay on the big screen during DRS made everyone around them laugh.

Shubman Gill gave Gujarat Titans the much-needed start in their spirited pursuit of a modest 180 total on the batting-friendly Eden Gardens. The Titans sped to 75/1 in 8.3 overs thanks to his unbeaten 30-ball 45, needing a changeable 105 runs off 69 balls. However, during the third over, KKR players believed they had the big fish in hand, only to be let down a short while later.

It was the fourth ball of that over, bowled by Harshit Rana, and it pitched at a good length before angling into the middle and leg stump.

Gill attempted a flick shot, but he was unable to time it precisely before the ball crossed the boundary line for a four. After a brief discussion, Rana and the KKR players decided to take the DRS for leg-before even though they initially believed there was no bat present.

When they saw the first replay on the big screen, KKR players, especially Andre Russell and Harshit Rana, began celebrating the dismissal because the ball had Gill perfectly squared up before it hit his pad. With big smiles on their faces, they started to embrace one another. However, a few seconds later, snicko revealed a spike when the ball was next to Gill’s bat.

Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a devastating loss against Gujarat Titans, despite good batting efforts displayed by Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Andre Russell.

The bowling unit of Kolkata Knight Riders failed terribly in picking up wickets against Gujarat Titans, and with the likes of Shubhman Gill, David Miller, and Vijay Shankar titans chased down the target with 2 overs and 7 wickets remaining.
