Arjun’s long wait is finally over because he will play in his first IPL game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Arjun Tendulkar is the son of the renowned Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar.
With both having played for Mumbai Indians, The pair will be the first father-son duo to participate in the IPL 2013 marking Sachin’s final season in the league.
Mumbai Indians acquired Arjun for a base price of INR 20 lakhs during the auction prior to the 2021 season. A year later, Arjun attracted two bidders in the mega auction for the 2022 season, with Gujarat Titans also raising the paddle before he returned to MI for a price of INR 30 lakhs.
Before the toss, Arjun and his father Sachin were seen in-depth talking. Sachin has a long history with the team, first as a player and then as a mentor.
In an effort to inspire the 23-year-old ahead of his debut at the storied Wankhede Stadium. Sachin and stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav were later joined by regular skipper Rohit Sharma.

He relocated to Goa for the ensuing season, the 2022–2023 domestic campaign, and made his Ranji Trophy debut against Rajasthan as a No. 3 by scoring a century. (7) batters.
He also played well for the team with the white ball, finishing with a share of the most wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. At a 32.37 average, Arjun had taken eight wickets in seven matches.
After winning the toss, KKR was given the opportunity to open the batting in the game by Mumbai Indians’ acting captain Suryakumar. “The wicket appears to be dry, so I’d love to bowl first. Later, the ball comes onto the bat nicely,” he claimed.
