By three runs, Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings.
For the first time at the Chepauk since 2008, RR defeated CSK.
In the final over of the thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Sandeep Sharma claimed that he was doing nothing but throwing yorkers.
The Super Kings needed to score 176 runs to win on Wednesday, April 12, so Sandeep had to stop 21 runs that came off the final over.
After launching two wides to open the cover, the speedster produced a Ball. After that, MS Dhoni smacked him on the leg side for two sixes.
Sandeep kept his composure under pressure, and the Royals defeated the four-time IPL champions by three runs despite needing to reach the target in three balls and under pressure.
“I only wanted to put my yorkers to death. In the nets, I was producing strong yorkers. I was attempting to bowl the yorker on the heel, but I failed. After the game, Sharma said, “I went around the wicket and the results came.”
According to Sandeep, he didn’t want to give Ravindra Jadeja any information about his arc. He said, “I wanted to take the ball out of his reach”.
When bowling to MS Dhoni, Sandeep stressed the significance of changing the angles to contain the batter. “To Mahi bhai,” Sharma continued, “I wanted to alter the angle and bowl outside off”.
At the Chepauk in 2008, the Royals defeated the Super Kings for the first time. They then suffered six straight defeats in Chennai. In eight games, it was RR’s second victory over CSK in Chennai.
The Royals were able to regain first place in the points standings with the victory. The best among all teams competing in the tournament, they also have the best net run rate at 1.588. Contrarily, CSK is ranked fifth in the table with four points and a net run rate of -0.225.
