The injured Kamlesh Nagarkoti was replaced by Priyam Garg on Sunday by the Delhi Capitals. After suffering a stress fracture in his lower back, DC fast bowler Nagarkoti will not play in the remaining IPL 2023 matches.
Priyam Garg, a talented batsman from Uttar Pradesh, has been selected as Nagarkoti’s replacement, and Delhi Capitals has chosen him for his base salary of INR 20 lakh. The attacking batter was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the first time in 2020 and played in 21 IPL games for SRH over three seasons, according to an IPL media release.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti was selected by the KKR side to play in the 2018 IPL edition. Unfortunately, a back injury forced him to miss more than a year of work, with the majority of that time being spent in recovery. After being acquired by the team for Rs 1.10 Crore, he joined the Delhi Capitals squad for the 2022 season. However, the 23-year-old only participated in one game in 2017.
Priyam Garg is a player who has been a part of the IPL. In the next edition, he played cricket for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
IPL 2023: Priyam Garg can play a key role for Delhi Capitals
After that, Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him for Rs. 1.90 crores. In 17 IPL games, he scored 251 runs at an average of 15 points and 29. Additionally, he had a 115-point 14-strike rate. Additionally, Priyam led the Indian side in the Under-19 World Cup captain.
Priyam’s entry may result in the change that DC is currently lacking in the middle of the lineup—a good batter. Delhi Capitals are performing really badly so far at the league table in the Indian Premier League 2023. They are currently at the bottom of the league table with just 1 win from the 6 matches played.
With the addition of talented batter Priyam Garg, Delhi Capitals are expected to turn around the table in their favour. Delhi Capitals will play their next match on 24th April 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
