In their seventh game of the 2023 Indian Premier League season, the Royal Challengers Bangalore faced the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. The team was given the opportunity to bat after losing the toss with Virat Kohli once again leading RCB.

Trent Boult dismissed the star batsman on the game’s first pitch. But Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis led RCB to a commanding lead.

As the pair stitched a solid 127-run stand for the third wicket. Maxwell smashed 77 off just 44 deliveries and Du Plessis made a heroic 62 off just 39 deliveries. As a result of a lower-order collapse in the final overs of the innings. The RCB eventually declared at 189/9 in 20 overs.

Former Mumbai Indians pacer and New Zealand cricketer Mitchell McClenaghan praised Maxwell and Du Plessis for their ferocious performances for the team.

McClenaghan stated, “While I’m not a fan of the RCB, I’m a fan of Faf and Maxwell,” in a tweet from his official account. These guys are playing so well, damn”.

We RCBIANS don’t want fans like you, Mitch, a Twitter user who supports the RCB apparently took offence to the first part of the tweet.” The tweet was noted by McClenaghan, who then retaliated harshly. The New Zealand athlete quoted the tweet and wrote, “Don’t like trophies?”.

Here is how Mitchell McClenaghan replied to an RCB fan:

With 18 wickets in 12 games, Mitchell McClenaghan was a crucial part of Mumbai Indians’ 2015 Indian Premier League victory. The star pacer’s contribution to the MI’s third championship in 2017 was even more significant. He played in 14 games and recorded 19 wickets during the campaign.

The 36-year-old star was not selected by any team during the 2018 auction but Mumbai Indians later chose him again to take Jason Behrendorff’s place. He made his final IPL appearance in 2019.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday, 26th April 2023.
