IPL 2023: “I Have Come Here To Play In The IPL, Not To Take Abuse From Anyone” – Naveen-Ul-Haq On The Verbal Fight

Although RCB won the game against LSG, the limelight was taken by the verbal fight that started between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli after the match in the IPL 2023. And, Naveen-ul-Haq was also involved in it and his instagram story stirred up the matter too.

“I won’t put up with anyone’s mistreatment’. Naveen-ul-Haq on Virat Kohli’s fight with LSG players. Later, in the locker room with one of his teammates, Naveen shared his true feelings about the incident and Kohli.

However, what had begun during the game was simply being continued in the on-field face-off.  Naveen-ul-Haq from LSG became enraged after a confrontation with Kohli near the end of the game.

With his Instagram story, Naveen-ul-Haq stirs up more controversy.

According to Indian Express, Naveen later said to a member of his LSG team, “I have come here to play in the IPL, not to take abuse from anyone”.

The Afghanistan actor continued the conflict on social media, writing on his Instagram story: “You get what you deserved that’s how it should be and that’s how it goes”.

After the incident, he told one of his teammates in the locker room how he really felt about Kohli and the incident. Initially, Kohli yelled at Naveen and then pointed his shoe in his direction. The Afghanistan star, who was now enraged, charged at the former RCB captain.

Right away, both the umpire and Amit Mishra, the other LSG batter in the middle, intervened. This time, while looking at Mishra and signalling for Naveen to remain calm, Kohli continued their heated conversation.

Following the game, Naveen gave him a firm handshake before speaking. Naveen continued while Kohli ignored it and carried on. Then Kohli halted and responded back in kind. Glenn Maxwell intervened to put a stop to the situation before it became too tense by separating the two.

Naveen and Kohli were later the targets of harsh action from the BCCI. While the latter was required to pay his entire match fee, the former was only fined 50% of his match fees.

For his ugly altercation with Kohli just seconds after the Naveen incident during handshakes, Gambhir was also fined 100% of his match fees.

Before the teammates intervened to separate the two. There was a heated argument at the Ekana Stadium. During which words were exchanged and fingers were raised.
