After the IPL 2023 match between DC and MI, Pathan’s critical remark about Warner, “Different standards for Kohli?,” sparks a Twitter tiff.
David Warner has scored the most runs for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 by a significant margin with totals of 56, 37, 65, and 51. The Orange Cap, given to the IPL player who scores the most runs, is also up for grabs thanks to his 209 runs total.
But it doesn’t seem like his runs have made a difference for DC, as the team lost its fourth game in a row to fall to the bottom of the IPL 2023 points standings.
The real issue here is Warner’s strike rate of 114. The DC captain has been unable to accelerate at any point in the game despite scoring three half-centuries in four games and remaining in the middle for more than 15 overs on three occasions.
“To top it all off, Warner is the only player in the 16th IPL to have scored over 100 runs without hitting a single six.”
During the IPL 2023 cricket match between the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians(PTI), Delhi Capitals batter David Warner plays a shot.
Warner batted until the 19th over even when facing MI, but he only managed to hit six boundaries while scoring at a pitiful strike rate of 108.
The outcome was significant because, despite Axar Patel’s heroic 54 off 25 balls, DC was still able to continue and post a significant score.
Irfan tweeted, “How come no one is pointing out David Warner’s strike rate?? He has been playing with a low strike rate for quite some time now…”

The tweet from Irfan sparked discussion. Some people noted that Warner’s strike rate had received a lot of attention from experts on television and from fans on social media. The final ball of the game saw Tim David and Cameron Green steal MI’s first win of the season, rendering DC’s 172 ineffective.
Mumbai Indians faced a difficult task because of the finger spinners’ easy access to the pitch, which was drier than it was for the first game here.
However, Rohit’s sublime 65 off 45 balls helped his team secure their first victory of the year. Mumbai needed five runs off the final over thanks to the middle-order partnership of Cameron Green (17 not out off 8) and Tim David (13 not out off 11).
Mumbai gained a much-needed victory after suffering back-to-back losses, while Delhi’s season took a turn for the worse with their fourth consecutive defeat.
