IPL 2023: KL RahulDespite a close game, LSG under KL Rahul defeated Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023 by 10 runs. LSG batted first in the match after losing the toss, scoring a respectable total of 154/7 thanks to Kyle Mayers’ (51) half-century.

When bowling for the RR team, Ravichandran Ashwin (2/23) made excellent use of the circumstances. Trent Boult (1/16) provided him with a useful complement with a sparing spell.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (44) and Jos Buttler (40), the RR openers played similarly to their counterparts in the chase but were a little slower. The middle order failed miserably after they left and the Royals were ultimately only able to score 144/6 as a result.

The second inning was a team effort for the LSG bowlers. Marcus Stoinis (2/28) and Avesh Khan (3/25) both made an impression with their cutting spells.

Upon reflection following the game, LSG captain KL Rahul said: “Obviously, we entered this game believing that 180 was a par score. We considered getting 10-15 more than required because RR has some excellent batsmen.”

“But I informed Kyle (Kyle Mayers) that this is not a 180-degree pitch after the first over from Boulty himself. Amit Mishra had a positive impact and had good bowling stats. Since RR are fairly strong at the top of the order. Our plans and strategies have always been to take the first 2-3 wickets early”.

On Saturday, April 22 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, the Lucknow Super Giants will play the Gujarat Titans.
