Lucknow Super Giants pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out of the 2023 Indian Premier League. The franchise, on Thursday, announced Mumbai youngster Suryansh Shedge as his replacement for the remainder of the tournament. Unadkat suffered a shoulder injury during a training session.

Jaydev Unadkat played three matches this season, conceding 92 runs at an economy rate of 11.50. He tripped over the side rope while bowling in the nets. The Indian Premier League released a statement announcing Suryansh Shedge as his replacement. They wrote,

“Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday brought Suryansh Shedge on board as a replacement for the injured Jaydev Unadkat for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Unadkat, a left-arm pacer, sustained a shoulder injury during training.”

Jaydev Unadkat is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. The BCCI said as reported by News 18,

“A specialist consultation has been sought and the left-arm fast bowler is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru undergoing strength and rehab sessions for his shoulder.”

Suryansh Shedge signed for 20 Lakh

Suryansh Shedge has been signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for INR 20 Lakh. He first came to the limelight when he slammed 326 off 137 balls, the fastest triple century of a Giles Shield tournament, seven years ago. He was playing for Gundecha Education Academy (Kandivali) against SPSS Mumbadevi Niketan (Borivli) at Shivaji Park in the match.

In the Men’s U25 State A Trophy last year, he performed well for Mumbai. Suryansh slammed 184 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 124.32 SR with 16 fours & 5 sixes. He also took twelve wickets in the tournament. The Lucknow Super Giants rank third on the points table currently, with 15 points from thirteen matches. They will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in their final league game, and winning in the match will seal their spot in the playoff of the Indian Premier League 2023.
