On Friday, April 21, MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) released a lengthy statement regarding his Indian Premier League (IPL) future amid rumours that he would leave the league at the end of the 2023 season.
At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the four-time champions defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a margin of seven wickets.
The 41-year-old said he was enjoying the latter part of his career during the post-game ceremony. He remarked:
“It’s important to enjoy the final stage of my career, whatever has been said and done. Being here is enjoyable. The Chennai crowd has shown a great deal of love and affection. They frequently stay up late listening to me. ”.

In awe of his own dismissal of Aiden Markram, MS Dhoni contrasts it with Rahul David’s catch.
MS Dhoni was in awe of the catch he made to get rid of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Aiden Markram. He likened it to a particularly impressive catch made by former India captain and wicketkeeper Rahul Dravid during the course of his illustrious career.
CSK’s captain uttered:
“I thought it was an outstanding catch. Rahul Dravid caught one in that manner while keeping in a game I still remember from a long time ago”. The 41-year-old expressed his surprise at not being named “Best catch of the match”.
Dhoni also gave Matheesha Pathirana, dubbed “mini Malinga” for his competent bowling performance in IPL 2023, additional credit. He gave him credit for maintaining a line and length that were both consistent.
To choose his (Pathirana’s) course of action, you need time. It is challenging to score off Malinga because of his awkward action and his extreme consistency in line and length”.

On Sunday, April 23, CSK will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. CSK has won four of their first six games in IPL 2023.
