Chennai Super Kings batter Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed that skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni can play in the Indian Premier League for the next five years. The wicket-keeper batter has kept the fans guessing about his future in the tournament. Under his leadership, the franchise has reached the playoff of the 2023 Indian Premier League.

In a conversation with Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad spoke about his experience of playing under Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He expressed that he is grateful, and hailed the former Indian captain. Ruturaj Gaikwad said in a video shared by the Indian Premier League,

“To be honest, I’m really grateful. To be able to play 50 games under him. If I look back at the journey from the very first game, until now, he has been the same. There is no difference. He has been humble, and open for talks. Every time, anytime you go. To have that confidence of him behind me and I know whatever he is saying or I can go and ask anything that I want. It is exactly what I wanted being a youngster in this atmosphere.”

Devon Conway also praised Mahendra Singh Dhoni and expressed that he gives the players freedom and confidence. He said,

“He has played so much cricket, so respected. If a person of that magnitude has your backing and believes in you, it gives you so much confidence as a player. We’re very lucky to have him.”
