Nitish Rana claimed that Andre Russell, who won Player of the Match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), had his trust from the beginning.

In spite of a string of subpar performances, Nitish Rana claimed that he never lost confidence in Andre Russell’s bat skills. Russell had an outstanding performance on Monday, May 8, as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by five wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Russell scored 42 runs off of 23 balls, including three fours and as many sixes, to win the Player of the Match award. Rinku Singh’s four off Arshdeep Singh allowed KKR to cross the finish line despite the fact that Rinku Singh was eliminated in the penultimate ball of the run-chase.

“I desired to hold one end when I was batting. Due to Venky’s ankle issue, we were attempting to get one big over here and there. We were all waiting for that one Russell inning to arrive after 10 games. During the post-game presentation ceremony, Rana backed him up and said, “You have done a lot, and you will definitely win us a game.”

Rana expressed his “anger” over the bowlers from KKR’s performance against the Kings, which resulted in a run deficit of 179 runs

“Home advantage also felt present on this pitch. Because this was a 160-165 run wicket, I was upset that our bowlers bowled poorly in the dying stages. Rana said as much.”

Rana praised Rinku for playing yet another game-winning shot and maintaining composure under pressure. In addition to receiving praise from Andre Russell following the game, Rinku managed to stay unbeaten on 21 off 10 balls.

“(On Rinku) I just keep telling him to believe in himself because what he has accomplished is something that not many people will ever do. The entire crowd was chanting “Rinku, Rinku” as he was at bat. He has earned that amount so far this year. Since I’ve been working at this franchise for a while, I’ve grown accustomed to the Eden crowd chanting “Russell, Russell,” so hearing them yell “Rinku, Rinku” makes me feel extremely proud and happy. This season, he has earned that respect, the speaker continued.”

As a result of winning five out of ten games, the Knights moved up to fifth place in the standings with 10 points after the victory.
