The Sunrisers Hyderabad will head into the upcoming 2023 Indian Premier League season with an aim to lift their second championship title. They will kick off the much-awaited season against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, April 2 in a home game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be led by a new captain this season. South African cricketer Aiden Markram has been handed over the leadership responsibilities after the last season debacle. Hyderabad finished eighth on the points table with just six wins from fourteen games. With a new skipper and a new-look team this year, they will be hoping to change their fortunes.
Mayank Agarwal, Sunriser Hyderabad’s new signing is likely to play an important role for the franchise. He will open the innings alongside youngster Abhishek Sharma this season. Sharma was the leading run-scorer for the franchise last year with 426 runs at an average of 30.43. The likes of Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, and Harry Brook are likely to follow the opening duo.

Veteran pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an integral part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad leadership group. He along with him Umran Malik and Marco Jensen are likely to be the three pacers for the franchise this year. Last season, Umran Malik impressed one and all with his fiery pace. He was the fourth leading wicket-keeper in the season and earned the Emerging player award. Sunriserd Hyderabad will be hoping the speedster carries forward the performance in the 2023 Indian Premier League season.
