The Gujarat Titans (GT) will play against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League 2023 under the direction of Rohit Sharma at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
On Tuesday, Gujarat Titans lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 15 runs in Qualifier 1, while MI defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 81 runs on Wednesday in the Eliminator. The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai hosted the two games as well.
This will be the third encounter between the two teams this year. In the opening game, GT defeated MI by 55 runs. Mumbai Indians returned the favour by defeating Gujarat Titans by a score of 27 runs in the second leg.

Mohammed Shami: The leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2023 is the Gujarat Titans’ Mohammed Shami. With an average of 17 points and an economy rate of 7 points, he has taken 26 wickets in 15 innings. In his most recent match against the Mumbai Indians, Shami failed to claim any wickets while allowing up to 53 runs to be scored through four wickets.
In the knockout game for his team, he would be aiming to exact revenge for his pricey performance. In a total of 13 games against MI, Shami has taken 12 wickets at averages of 34.75 and 8.51.
Rashid Khan: After Shami, Rashid Khan, a leg-spinner for the Gujarat Titans, has taken the second most wickets. With a 19.00 average and a 7.91 economy rate, he has taken 25 wickets in 15 games.
In his most recent match against the Mumbai Indians, Rashid took four wickets for 30 runs. He has faced the five-time champions in 13 games overall and taken 18 wickets at an average of 17 and 596, respectively.
Akash Madhwal: Will Akash Madhwal’s newly found confidence help Mumbai Indians pass one more test? The pacer took five wickets for five runs in three and a third overs in the Eliminator match against LSG. He picked up a four-wicket haul in his second-to-last game, another game that MI needed to win.
Madhwal has taken 13 wickets overall in seven IPL 2023 games, averaging 12 points per 84 and 7 points per 76 in terms of economy. In GT’s most recent game against MI, he had the most wickets taken. In four overs, he took three wickets for 31 runs. Wridhimman Saha and Shubman Gill of GT were eliminated by Madhwal. Later, he fired David Miller as well.
