Former cricketer Virender Sehwag feels Rashid Khan will be the trump card for the Gujarat Titans against the Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 1 of the 2023 Indian Premier League that will take place on Tuesday, May 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He lauded the way Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya has used Rashid Khan this season.
Rashid Khan is the joint-leading-wicket taker with Mohammed Shami in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. He has 24 wickets in fourteen matches, at an economy rate of 14.00. He has one four-wicket haul to his name this season. Former cricketer Virender Sehwag expressed that Rashid Khan has the ability to break partnerships, and will be a trump card for the Gujarat Titans.
“Rashid Khan is the trump card for Gujarat. If they want wickets, they bring him. And then the way Hardik has used Rashid, it is commendable. Rashid likes to break partnerships and now he has become the most successful bowler of this season on the basis of his excellent performance,” said Virender Sehwag.
The Qualifier 1 batter will be an interesting one: Sanjay Manjrekar
Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar analysed the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Qualifier 1 match in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He expressed that both teams are similar, and don’t make too many changes. He added that the battle between the two teams will be interesting. Sanjay Manjrekar said,
“Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans have been very similar teams tactically. Both these teams don’t look to make too much of changes. The leadership group keeps the atmosphere light in the dressing room. The battle between these two in playoffs will be an interesting one.”
The Gujarat Titans have a great track record against the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. They have won all their three matches against the franchise in the history of the tournament. The Chennai Super Kings will be keen to change the scores and book a place in the final.
