IPL 2023: Riyan Parag Was Called The “Biggest Fraud, Worst Player In IPL”

Riyan Parag has frequently demonstrated his ability to hit the ball far. He can also close out an inning, as evidenced by his IPL career where he plays for Rajasthan Royals.

As a part-time spinner, he can also chip in with the ball. While the Rajasthan Royals haven’t utilized well his bowling yet, they have relied on him to smash those blazing cameo knocks down the order as well.

However, in order to help RR’s struggling innings on Friday, Parag was brought in as an Impact Player to face Gujarat Titans. But, he could only manage to make 4 off 6. And, after his third unsuccessful attempt in IPL 2023, fans on social media showed no mercy to him.

Here is how Twitterati reacted to Riyan Parag:

When Rajasthan brought in Parag for INR 3.8 crore at the mega auction in 2022, they had great faith in him. He then earned the team’s trust by having a fairly impressive season, earning his retention for the 2023 campaign.

Although he only managed 58 runs in six innings for RR. The 22-year-old has been completely ineffective at the plate.

He was removed from the Rajasthan Royals’ starting lineup due to a recent slump in performance. And he wasn’t even listed among the Impact Players. On April 19 against the Lucknow Super Giants, he made his final team appearance.

After being down four for just 63 runs in the eighth over, the Royals made a desperate decision by bringing him who scored only six runs. After losing to Rashid Khan, he eventually made his way back to the pavilion, scoring only four runs off of six balls.

After being dropped from the team, Riyan Parag discussed his training sessions with Zubin Bharucha, a former Indian cricketer who is now the High-Performance Director for the Royals.

“It’s time for me to go back to the basics. I spoke to Zubin (Bharucha), sir and I haven’t missed practice in the last five days”, Parag said. “I’ve been strengthening my fundamentals and working out for a while”.

“Normally, I try to hit straight, but now I’m trying to hit all over the field. I would like to have more options. To win games for my team is all that matters to me”.

“We still have five games left, and we need to win three of them to finish in the top two spots, so whenever I get the chance, I’ll try to win a game for RR “.
