With 99 runs remaining unbeaten, Shikhar Dhawan led the Punjab Kings’ batting attack. As the hero for Punjab Kings in game 14 of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Shikhar Dhawan personified the adage “leading from the front.”

The second-highest run total in tournament history, Dhawan’s 99* put him at 69.2 per cent of the team’s total runs, just behind Brendon McCullum’s insane performance in the opening match of the 2008 tournament. McCullum contributed 71.2% of the team’s points to the score in that particular game.
