The Mumbai Indians qualified for the 2023 Indian Premier League playoff on Sunday, May 21 after Gujarat Titans batter Shubman Gill’s century crashed Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the race. Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared a cheeky tweet following Gujarat Titans’ win in the match.
The Gujarat Titans defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets at Bengaluru. Due to this loss, the hosts fell two points short of the playoff race, paving the way for the Mumbai Indians to qualify. Post-match, former Mumbai Indians player Sachin Tendulkar lauded Shubman Gill’s batting, with a cheeky take. He tweeted,
“Cameron Green and Shubman Gill batted well for Mumbai Indians. Amazing innings by Virat Kohli too to score back-to-back 100s. They all had their methods and were in a class of their own. So happy to see MI in the playoffs. Go Mumbai.”

Thankfully, it’s all working out for me: Shubman Gill
Gujarat Titans batter Shubman Gill has been in terrific form in the 2023 Indian Premeir League. He notched up big scores but was missing out on the three-figure mark in the first half. However, the right-handed batter has scored two centuries in the business end of the tournament. Talking about his performance, Shubman Gill said,
“I am in good form, it’s about getting a start and then converting it into a big one. In the first half of the IPL, I was missing out on those big ones. I was getting a lot of 40s and 50s. Thankfully, it’s all working out for me in the business end of the IPL.”
