IPL 2023: Virat Kohli’s Knock Gives RCB Fans A Strange “April 23” Scare
RCB Fans Are Given A Strange "April 23" Scare By Virat Kohli's Alarming "Triple Golden Duck" Statistic

On Sunday, Virat Kohli was ejected after a golden duck during the match against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023. Virat Kohli, the star batter for Royal Challengers Bangalore had a forgettable game against Rajasthan Royals after getting out on a first-ball duck.

The RCB star lost the toss and the RR captain Sanju Samson invited the Bengaluru visitors to bat. However, when RCB captain Virat Kohli faced the first delivery of the game. left-arm pacer Trent Boult completely outfoxed him and he was out of leg before.

As Kohli was dismissed on a golden duck, it was a replay of his dismissal against Boult in the 2019 World Cup semifinal. Boult threw an in-swinger that was characteristic of him. And Kohli attempted to play it across but failed miserably.

Umpire Michael Gough raised his finger immediately after the ball struck the pads. It was so level that Kohli walked off toward the dugout without even turning to face his opening partner Faf du Plessis.

A little while after Kohli was out against RR after a first-ball duck. A rather intriguing statistic started trending on social media. On April 23, Kohli has been shockingly dismissed on a golden duck in his last three games for the RCB.

As opposed to Marco Jansen of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who dismissed Kohli on a duck in 2017. Nathan Coulter-Nile of the Kolkata Knight Riders did so on his first ball of the season.

Kohli is off to a better start in the 2023 Indian Premier League than he did in the prior season. In the first seven games of the current campaign, the 34-year-old Indian batsman has already scored 279 runs; in the 16 games of the previous season. Kohli had a poor performance, scoring only 341 runs.

The batter needs 97 runs to surpass the 7000-run milestone. He becomes the first player in the tournament’s history to do so. Kohli is currently at the top of the list of tournament run scorers with 6903 runs to his name.
