Just before the start of KKR’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sehwag spoke with Cricbuzz and compared Rinku to the legendary Dhoni and Sachin. Explaining that his presence in the KKR line-up is similar to what the two Indian legends were for the national side during their time.
The KKR squad thinks Rinku Singh is still there. When he started winning matches, there was a belief that MS Dhoni was still alive. In the 1990s, the match could be won if Tendulkar was present.

But it couldn’t if he wasn’t. Presently, the problem is shared by Rinku Singh and KKR. Andre Russell had previously supported them, he said.
The only player to ever do so in the final over of an IPL game was Rinku, who hit five consecutive sixes. The former India batter believes that neither he nor anyone else will ever match or surpass Rinku’s record.
There has never been anything like this in the annals of cricket and Rinku Singh will never be able to pull this off again. This record may have been broken. But Rinku will never ever be able to hit six sixes and break that record, the man said.
Sehwag added that Rinku did benefit from a little bit of luck in that game against GT. The mindset he had upon seeing Yash Dayal with the ball whom he has faced countless times in the nets for the Uttar Pradesh domestic team was what allowed him to hit five sixes, he claimed.
Even Rinku would have realized he couldn’t hit the bowler if it had been Alzarri Joseph. But he’s spent his entire life in the nets fighting Yash Dayal.
