Mayank Markande, the talented spinner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, performed admirably against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. Markande not only bowled a cost-effective spell but also displayed his excellent fielding skills in a match where both teams’ bowlers went for lots of runs in the IPL 2023.
Aiden Markram reintroduced Markande into the attack in the 12th over of the innings to stop Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt from destroying the other bowlers.
The spinner did not let his captain down as Markande took a stunning reflex catch to dismiss Phil Salt. The threatening partnership came to an end when Mayank bowled an off-stump delivery that was a little short of the length. Salt attempted to play the shot past the bowler, but Markande took a stunning low-reflex catch.

From 112/2, DC was quickly reduced to 140/5 and ultimately lost by 9 runs, so Salt’s departure proved to be a crucial turning point in the game.
Earlier, after deciding to bat first, opener Abhishek Sharma set a fantastic precedent for the middle order with his quick-fire 67-run innings. The other significant batsman for Orange Army was Heinrich Klaasen, who played an unbeaten innings of 53 runs in 27 balls to help Sunrisers Hyderabad reach a respectable total of 197 for 6.
Mitchell Marsh of DC was the most effective bowler, racking up 4 for 27. David Warner, the captain of DC, was lost on the second pitch of the innings in response. However, the hosts took control after Mitchell Mars and Phil Salt put together an outstanding 112-run partnership in just 66 balls.
The Capitals were limited to 188 for 6 in 20 overs due to a mini-collapse at the end. Phil Salt scored 59 runs, and Mitchell Marsh scored 63 runs, leading DC in scoring. With figures of 2/20, Mayank Markande of SRH was the team’s preferred bowler.
