Rajasthan Royals went to the top of the points table with a 32 runs victory over Chennai Super Kings played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 27 April 2023 in the IPL 2023. Meanwhile, an incident took place in the final over when MS Dhoni produced a direct hit as young Dhruv Jurel tried to steal a single to retain strike. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first.
It was an aggressive start by Yashvi Jaiswal right from the word go putting pressure on Chennai Super Kings bowlers in the first six overs. At the end of the first six overs, RR raced away to 64 for 0.
Jaiswal completed his fifty off just 26 balls and kept the momentum going for RR. Ravindra Jadeja provided the breakthrough for CSK dismissing Jos Buttler with a simple catch to Dube at long-on. Buttler and Jaiswal added 86 runs for the opening wicket. Jaiswal continued his aggressive form taking on the spinners.
Tushar Deshpande struck to dismiss RR captain Sanju Samson with a simple catch to Rahane at long-on. He then got rid of Jaiswal in the same over to put breaks on RR’s batting.
Theekshana was bought into the attack and got rid of Shimron Hetymer taking an inside edge onto the stumps. Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Paddikal produced some brilliant shots in the last five overs against inexperienced CSK bowling. Jurel and Paddikal added 48 runs for the 5th wicket. Rajasthan Royals posted 202 for 5, the highest total at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur in IPL history.

Rajasthan Royals’ bowling line-up superb job.
Sandeep Sharma and impact player Kuldip Yadav looked impressive with discipline lines and lengths against Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ruturaj Gaikwad showed intent to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Adam Zampa was bought into the attack early and got rid of Conway with a simple catch to Sandeep Sharma at mid-off. Conway struggled big time not able to time the deliveries. At the end of the first six overs, CSK scored 42 for 1.
Adam Zampa dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad with a simple catch to Paddikal. The veteran spinner R Ashwin struck twice in the same over getting the wickets of Rahane and impact player Ambati Rayudu. Shivam Dube produced some lovely hitting against RR spinners along with Moeen Ali. Zampa struck one more time getting rid of Moeen Ali stumped. Moeen and Shivam Dube added 51 runs for the 5th wicket.
Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja tried their best but RR bowling including Sandeep Sharma, Jason Holder, and Kuldip Yadav created enough pressure on CSK batting. Dube completed his third fifty off 29 deliveries. RR won the match by 32 runs to register their fifth win. For his 77 off 43 deliveries, Yashvi Jaiswal was named the Player of the Match award.
