The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings saw 440 runs scored in 40 overs played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 17 April 2023 in the IPL 2023. After the match, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni share a light moment both hugging each other.
Both Virat and MS Dhoni played in many matches together for Team India and looked very happy meeting after last year’s IPL. The legends of Indian Cricket took a few seconds and was a nice meeting.
It was a high-scoring affair between CSK and RCB last night. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to field first. Mohammed Siraj provided the initial breakthrough dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad caught by Wayne Parnell. Ajiyanka Rahane and Devon Conway showed intent in putting pressure on RCB bowlers. At the end of six overs, CSK made 53 for 1.

Conway and Rahane looked in sublime touch putting enough pressure on RCB bowlers. Hasranaga got rid of Rahane with a lovely delivery. Rahane and Conway added 74 runs for the 2nd wicket. Shivam Dube destroyed RCB’s bowling smashing fifty off 25 deliveries.
It was a brilliant batting effort by CSK batters as they posted 226 for 6 in 20 overs. For CSK, Conway made 83 off 45 balls while Dube scored 52. Dube and Conway added 80 runs for the 3rd wicket.
Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis’ heroics in vain
Chasing down a mammoth total of 227 runs to win, it was not an ideal start for RCB as they lost two early wickets of Kohli and Lomror. Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis kept the pressure on the inexperienced CSK bowling lineup. Both scored runs at will and made life tough for opponent bowlers. At the end of the first six overs, RCB raced away to 75 for 2.
After the field restrictions, Maxwell and Faf continued their attacking approach keeping RCB in the hunt. Faf du Plessis reached a half-century off 23 deliveries while Maxwell completed fifty off 24 balls. Maxwell’s brilliance came to end with a lovely catch by MS Dhoni. Maxwell and Faf added 126 runs for the 3rd wicket.
RCB lower order comprising of Dinesh Karthik, and Shahbaz Ahmed could not finish the match. The match went right down the wire as Suyash Prabhudessai came as an impact player but could not help RCB cross the line.
