Mumbai Indians all-rounder Cameron Green expressed that the franchise will back Rohit Sharma all the way in the 2023 Indian Premier League. The skipper has been going through a lean patch in the tournament and suffered a second consecutive duck in the recent match against Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma has managed 187 runs in 10 matches, at an average of 18.40, with just one fifty to his name. Several questions have been raised regarding his performance in the tournament. He had a below-par 2022 season as well, scoring 268 runs in 14 matches, at an average of 19.14. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Cameron Green backed the under-fire, Rohit Sharma. He said,

“We know the allegiance of Rohit with Mumbai Indians and everything that he has done in his career. So, we absolutely back him. He can come back and perform for us. He has batted beautifully in a few games, showing a really good tempo on the top. So, we back Rohit all the way.”

We have to put our best performances out there: Cameron Green

Mumbai Indians are eighth on the points table currently with five wins in 10 matches and have a Net Run Rate of -0.454. They have a tough road to the knockouts of the 2023 Indian Premier League season. All-rounder Cameron Green expressed that have put their best performance on the ground to stay alive in the competition. He said at the press conference,

“Hopefully everything we learned in the first 10 games holds us in good stead for the rest of the season, that’s going to be ruthless where if you win a game you’re second and if you lose, you’re second last. We have to put our best performances out there and we have an incredible team when we perform. So we’re going to back ourselves.”
