Chennai Super Kings has been dealt a major blow as Devon Conway has been ruled out of the IPL 2024 till May due to a thumb injury, he suffered in the 2nd T20I match against Australia played at Eden Park, Auckland.
Conway had a stellar run in the 2023 IPL where he scored 672 runs from 16 matches (16 innings) with 6 half-centuries to his name providing brilliant starts and helping CSK win the 5th IPL title.
During the IPL auction, Chennai Super Kings decided to buy young sensation Rachin Ravindra 1.8 Crore and could open the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad for CSK this season.

Ravindra could be a long-term option with all-around abilities which would come in handy and would be an ideal choice to lead CSK in the future.

Ravindra has been in sensational form of late with a double century against South Africa in Test match, two centuries, and two fifties across formats in the last 10 matches.
He can surprise top-quality bowlers with an array of strokes. Ravindra showed his class with 68 off 35 deliveries in the first T20I against Australia at Wellington. The ability to adapt and play according to the situation would be ideal which CSK would be eager to witness IPL 2024 in front of huge crowds.
