DC vs KKR

Delhi Capitals will face Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 16 of IPL 2024 to be played at Vizag on 3rd April. It promises to be an exciting encounter as DC registered their first win of the tournament, defeating defending Champions CSK by 20 runs.

On the other hand, KKR is high on confidence as they registered their second successive win of the tournament. Both teams would look to fight for glory and gain 2 valuable points.

Here we look at the 3 records that could be broken between DC and KKR in match 16 of IPL 2024:

  1. Pant could become 2nd fastest Indian to score 3,000 Runs.

Rishabh Pant showed his class with a superb knock of 51 which helped Delhi Capitals post 191 for 5 against Chennai Super Kings. He struggled in the first two matches against Punjab Kings and then against Rajasthan Royals.

Pant took his run tally to 2935 runs from 101 matches. He would be looking to showcase his talent against Kolkata Knight Riders at Vizag. The Delhi Capitals captain is just 65 runs away from completing 3000 runs in IPL history.

If can score 65 runs against KKR, he would become the 2nd fastest after KL Rahul to achieve this milestone. KL Rahul played a total of 80 matches while Suresh Raina featured in 103 matches. Pant could eclipse Raina as DC captain featured in 100 innings.

  1. Shreyas Iyer could become the highest run-getter between DC and KKR

Shreyas Iyer will be taking on his former team Delhi Capitals in today’s encounter at Vizag. Iyer led the Delhi Capitals to qualify for the 2020 finals. He then featured for Kolkata Knight Riders. Iyer did not take part in the 2023 edition of IPL due to an injury.

Sunil Narine celebrating for KKR

Gautam Gambhir is currently the leading run-getter between DC and KKR with 569 runs. Shreyas Iyer will look to showcase his skills with a captain knock. He is currently at 552 runs. He just needs 18 more runs to surpass Gambhir and become the leading run-getter in DC versus KKR matches in IPL history.

  1. Sunil Narine could become the leading wicket-taker between DC and KKR matches.

Sunil Narine has performed brilliantly for Kolkata Knight Riders. Umesh Yadav played for Kolkata Knight Riders and grabbed 25 wickets for KKR against Delhi Capitals.

Narine is currently second in terms of wicket-takers between DC and KKR. He has taken 25 wickets with a superb economy of 6.75 runs per over.  Narine will be eager to pick one more wicket to surpass Umesh Yadav and become the leading wicket-taker between DC and KKR in IPL.
