Jason Holder was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5.75 Crore in the 2023 IPL auction. He had a disappointing in the tournament. He finished with only 4 wickets from 8 matches at an economy of 9.96 runs per over including best figures of 2 for 29.

Before the mini-auction, Rajasthan Royals decided to release him. He is a decent all-rounder who can hit big shots and help their respective teams win matches.

The players would go under the hammer on 19th December in Dubai. He can be a utility player who can deliver the goods with both bat and ball.

Here we look at the 3 Teams That Should Target Jason Holder in IPL 2024.

  1. Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders decided to release 12 players before the mini-auction. They have top-quality players including Andre Russell and Sunil Narine for this year’s IPL. Jason Holder could be a blessing in disguise for the KKR franchise.

Lockie Ferguson and Tim Southee have been released by the KKR franchise this year due to poor performances. Holder can change the course of the game with his explosive batting. He could be used as a pinch hitter and could be included as a finisher. His experience with the bat would be essential as KKR has been lacking for the last few seasons.

Kolkata Knight Riders would be looking to go all-out for Jason Holder and help the franchise get back on track after disappointing outing in IPL 2023.

  1. Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings became the Champions of IPL for the record-equal fifth time defeating Gujarat Titans in a last-ball thriller. They have been the most consistent team in the most prestigious league of the world.

Dwaine Pretorius, Kyle Jamieson, and Sisanda Magala have been released by the franchise for IPL 2024. They need to invest in a proper pace bowler that Chennai Super Kings lacked during last year’s IPL.

His exposure with both bat and ball would be an ideal fit for the Yellow Army. Chennai Super Kings would be going for the all-rounder as they are lacking an international player who can contribute with both bat and ball.

  1. Gujarat Titans

The runners-up of the 2023 edition Gujarat Titans will see Shubman Gill being appointed as the captain for the upcoming season. Hardik Pandya returned to his old franchise Mumbai Indians for this year’s IPL.

Gujarat Titans released Alazzari Joseph before the auction, they have an option of a spot for the international seam bowler. He is not as fast as Jospeh but can bring variations with his bowling and can hit big shots.

Holder could open the bowling with Mohammed Shami and could be a useful bowler when the ball becomes older. He is a great option in the middle overs with bat especially against spinners and provides stability.

With Rashid Khan being a genuine all-round option for Gujarat Titans this year, Holder could be a good option that GT might be looking and improve their strength.
