CSK vs LSG

Lucknow Super Giants will host Chennai Super Kings in match number 34 of IPL 2024 to be played at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow on 19th April. It promises to be an exciting contest as LSG would be hoping to make a strong comeback after their 8-wicket loss to KKR.

On the other hand, CSK would be high on confidence as they defeated MI in Mumbai. They would look to continue their winning momentum with Dube, and Gaikwad proving their worth with their fifties while MS Dhoni’s 20 proved to be the difference against MI.

Both teams have top-quality players who can change the course of the game with their abilities.

Here we look at the 3 player battles to look out for between CSK and LSG:

  1. Quinton de Kock vs Matheesha Pathirana

Quinton de Kock would be looking to play a big role against Chennai Super Kings. His previous innings did not last long as he was dismissed cheaply by Vaibhav Arora. On the other hand, Tushar would be looking to showcase his skills against a strong South African player.

On the other hand, Pathirana bowled a dream spell in the previous match against MI picking 4 for 28 including wickets of Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Romario Shepard helped CSK win the match.

It promises to be an interesting battle between de Kock and Pathirana. Pathirana would look for another superb performance and dismiss the South African batter to put pressure on LSG’s batting order.

  1. Naveen UL Haq vs Ruturaj Gaikwad

Naveen UL Haq would likely make a comeback into the playing replacing Shamar Joseph providing the balance for LSG. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad came at number 3 and scored 69 off 40 deliveries which laid a strong foundation for CSK to post 206 for 4 in 20 overs.

Naveen would be hoping to grab the wicket of CSK captain Gaikwad as early as possible to put breaks on the CSK batting lineup.  This battle might decide the fate of the game.

  1. Ravi Bishnoi vs Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube looked in sublime form during the previous match against MI. He showed his class with a brilliant unbeaten 66 off 38 balls. Dube has been severe on the spinners this season and put them under pressure with big shots.

On the other hand, Bishnoi had an ordinary season so far. He gave away 17 runs in his 2.4 overs.

Dube would be looking to continue his superb form so far. It will be an interesting battle in the middle overs which could decide the fate of the game and hoping to see a cracking contest.
