IPL 2024

Gujarat Titans will host Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number 12 of IPL 2024 to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 31st March. This will be the first match of the doubleheader on Sunday. Gujarat Titans would be looking to make a comeback after suffering a 63-run loss to Chennai Super Kings away from home.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to continue their winning momentum after they posted the highest-ever total of 277 for 3 against Mumbai Indians. Both teams have quality players that could change the fortune of the game. It promises to be an exciting contest.

Here we look at the 3 player battles to look out for in match 12 of IPL between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad:

  1. Shubman Gill vs Pat Cummins

Shubman Gill will look to get back in form after a disappointing outing in the previous match against CSK. His batting form at Narendra Modi Stadium is brilliant with 826 runs from 14 matches including a century in the T20I format for Team India.

Pat Cummins looked impressive in the previous match, picking 2 wickets and giving away 35 runs in his 4 overs. Gill would look to showcase his domination and provide a flying start to Gujarat Titans to put pressure back on the SRH captain.

  1. Travis Head vs Spencer Johnson

Travis Head looked in sublime touch on his SRH debut against Mumbai Indians. He showed intent scoring a quickfire 62 that laid a strong foundation for SRH to post a mammoth total. On the other hand, Johnson struggled in the previous match against Chennai Super Kings giving away 35 runs and taking 1 wicket.

Head will be a major threat who can put enough pressure on the bowling with his explosive hitting. Johnson can swing, and trouble batters with pace and bounce which could create panic among Head.

Travis Head has a strike rate of 133.72, while Johnson took 11 wickets in the first six overs at an economy of 7.39 runs per over.

  1. Heinrich Klassen vs Rashid Khan

The explosive South African batter Klassen looked in sensational touch with an unbeaten 80 off 34 balls that helped SRH post 277 for 3. His ability to hit big shots with ease makes him a dangerous T20 batter to bowl at.

On the other hand, Rashid Khan took 2 wickets in the previous match against CSK but went for plenty of runs. The leg spinner would be eager to keep Klassen quiet in middle overs.

Klassen would be hoping to continue his superb form. On the other hand, Rashid Khan is yet to dismiss the South African batter in the T20 format.
