Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a thrilling 1-run win over table-toppers Rajasthan Royals in match 50 of IPL 2024 played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 2nd May. Nitish Kumar Reddy made headlines with his performance.

SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start for the hosts as they lost early wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Anmolpreet Singh. Reddy came to the crease putting pressure on the RR bowlers, especially Yuzvendra Chahal.

It was a superb batting display by Reddy putting on excellent display remaining not out on 76 off 42 balls with 3 fours and 8 sixes that helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post 201 for 3 in 20 overs. Reddy showed intent right from the word go with some lusty blows not allowing the RR bowlers to settle.

Watson, while speaking on Jio Cinema shared that he was impressed with the young Indian batter and the way he smashed the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin.

“Yeah, he is becoming one of my favorite cricketers to watch for sure. For a young man to be able to exert his dominance on a spin bowling attack, especially of Yuzi Chahal and Ashwin, and some of the shots, in fact all of the shots that he played tonight were of a rare quality. For a young man to have that skill development at such a young age and to execute under pressure against the best bowlers in the world,” Watson said.

Sunrisers Hyderabad register a thrilling 1-run win

Bhuvneshwar Kumar got Sunrisers Hyderabad to a perfect start getting rid of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in the first over that put RR under some pressure. The fielding was not up to the mark with Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s catches being dropped.

Pat Cummins delivered the goods getting wickets of well-set Riyan Parag. The match went right down the wire as Bhuvneshwar Kumar held onto their nerves to register 1 run.
