IPL 2024: Jasprit Bumrah’s “Silence” Post Grabs Eyeballs

Star bowler Jasprit Bumrah raised eyebrows on Tuesday by unfollowing the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Instagram, fueling speculations about his future with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise.

Bumrah took to Instagram Stories to share cryptic messages, suggesting a conflict between loyalty and personal aspirations. He wrote, “Sometimes being greedy is good and being loyal isn’t,” and added, “Silence is sometimes the best answer.”

This development follows MI’s recent announcement of the return of all-rounder Hardik Pandya to their squad. Pandya, who captained the Gujarat Titans (GT) for two seasons, left MI before the IPL 2022 mega auction to take on the leadership role at GT. Remarkably, Pandya led GT to victory in their inaugural season and guided them to the finals in the 2023 campaign.

In an unexpected twist, the 30-year-old all-rounder has now reunited with Mumbai Indians, marking a significant return to his IPL roots. The reunion was sealed through an all-cash trade deal with the Titans. To facilitate this transaction, Mumbai Indians parted ways with Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in preparation for the upcoming auction in Dubai on December 19.

The IPL officially confirmed these player trades, emphasizing that they adhere to the existing player fees structure. As the cricketing landscape witnesses these strategic team moves, Bumrah’s social media actions intensify the intrigue surrounding his association with Mumbai Indians, leaving fans and analysts eagerly awaiting further developments in the unfolding saga.
