The match was really close: Pat Cummins
After an outstanding innings by Andre Russell, KKR set a total of 208 runs in the first innings. When Sunrisers Hyderabad began their chase, Heinrich Klaasen’s remarkable performance kept them in contention.
Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma made solid starts, scoring 32 runs each, but it was Klaasen’s impressive 63 off 29 balls in the middle order that almost led Hyderabad to victory. However, they ultimately fell short by four runs, suffering their first defeat of the season.
Following the match, captain Pat Cummins shared his thoughts on his team’s performance, expressing his satisfaction with their efforts. He stated:
“Close game in the end, wonderful game of cricket. Unfortunately didn’t go our way. I thought for the most part, really happy with how we bowled. Obviously Dre Russ at the end there does what Dre Russ does, he’s pretty hard to contain. Overall, I thought we did a pretty good job,” Cummins said.
