IPL 2024: Kieron Pollard Unable To Points Out What Went Wrong For Mumbai Indians This Season
MI IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians finally registered their 4th win of the tournament defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 6th May 2024. They are out of the tournament as they won only 3 matches before the match against SRH.

Bumrah has been the shining light for Mumbai Indians this season with 18 wickets including a five-wicket haul against RCB. He has succeeded in every game phase and picked important wickets. Apart from him, none of the Mumbai Indians bowlers gave good support resulting in Mumbai Indians losing matches.

Suryakumar Yadav missed the first few matches due to an injury. He has been the only MI batter along with Tilak Varma to show consistency. Tilak Varma is the highest run-getter for MI this season with 384 runs from 12 matches (12 innings) with 3 half-centuries including the best score of 65.

Suryakumar Yadav has made so 334 runs from 9 matches (9 innings) with 1 century and 3 half-centuries with the best score of 102 not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 6th May that helped Mumbai Indians register an impressive win after being 31 for 3.

MI batting coach Kieron Pollard has said that he cannot pinpoint what went wrong with the team in the IPL 2024 season.

Mumbai Indians are having a disappointing season

Mumbai Indians won only 3 matches against RCB, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. Their bowling looked completely out of sorts as SRH smashed 277 for 3 at Hyderabad. Rohit Sharma scored a superb unbeaten century against Chennai Super Kings. Since then, he has struggled to score runs at the top of the order.

Hardik Pandya also struggled with his captaincy and bowling changes that dented Mumbai India’s chances of winning. They would be looking forward to ending the season as they face Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in the last two matches.

Bumrah has been a star bowler for MI going at an economy of 6.20 runs per over. South African speedster Coetzee grabbed 13 wickets from 10 matches but went for more than 10 runs per over.

Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for 0 after his return to MI playing XI. His form returned with a brilliant knock against RCB. His brilliant 102 against SRH augers well for MI in upcoming matches and for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024.
