IPL 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Lucknow Super Giants in match number 28 of IPL 2024 to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It promises to be an interesting contest as both teams are coming with a loss.

KKR lost their previous match against CSK at home by 7 wickets while LSG lost to Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets at home. Both teams will be looking to return to winning ways and stay in the hunt for the playoff stage.

Both teams have top-quality players who can change the course of the game with their abilities.

Here we look at the 3 player battles between KKR and LSG in match number 28 of IPL 2024:

  1. Quinton de Kock vs Mitchell Starc

Quinton de Kock failed to get going in the previous match against Delhi Capitals. On the other hand, Mitchell Starc struggled with their bowling and would be looking to pick early wickets.

Starc is a well-renowned bowler in international cricket, dismissing de Kock six times in international cricket.  It will be an interesting battle in the first six overs between Starc and de Kock.

Starc will be eager to get the early breakthrough dismissing de Kock and putting the brakes on LSG’s batting lineup.

  1. Sunil Narine vs Nicolas Pooran

Nicolas Pooran could not open his account in the previous match against Delhi Capitals. He has been in superb form for Lucknow Super Giants this season and will be an important cog against Sunil Narine in the middle overs.

Sunil Narine picked 1 for 30 in 4 overs against KKR but did not help them to win the match. Pooran is known to be an excellent player of spinner which could see an interesting battle in the middle overs with Narine.

  1. Shreyas Iyer vs Ravi Bishnoi

Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer for KKR in the previous match against CSK. On the other hand, Ravi Bishnoi looked impressive taking 2 wickets giving away just 25 runs in his 4 overs.

Ravi Bishnoi would be looking to stall the progress of KKR captain Shreyas Iyer in the middle overs. KKR captain Shreyas struggled with his batting so far and would look to play with an attacking approach against Bishnoi which could put KKR in front of the game in the middle overs.
