In IPL 2024, during a match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag on April 3, KKR’s Angkrish Raghuvanshi exchanged banter with teammate Philip Salt after scoring his first half-century.

Raghuvanshi’s innings comprised 54 runs from 27 balls at a striking rate of 200, featuring three sixes and five boundaries. Additionally, the 18-year-old formed a partnership of 104 runs with Sunil Narine for the second wicket before being dismissed by Anrich Nortje, caught by Ishant Sharma.

After the win, Salt posted an Instagram story praising Raghuvanshi for his outstanding performance in the match. Responding to the post, Raghuvanshi engaged in playful banter with Salt, a Manchester City fan, by writing: “Manc is red saltyyy”

Interestingly, both Manchester City and Delhi Capitals jerseys are sky blue. Salt previously played for DC but was not retained after the last season. Therefore, Raghuvanshi might be jokingly suggesting that he got revenge on Salt with his performance, as KKR won the game by a massive 106 runs.

Salt scored 18 runs off 12 deliveries during the match, including four boundaries. Raghuvanshi, who KKR purchased for INR 20 lakh, was India’s top run-scorer in the U19 World Cup in 2022, scoring 278 runs in six matches.

What occurred during the IPL 2024 match between DC and KKR?

KKR batted first and scored 272/7, marking the second-highest total in IPL history. Sunil Narine led the score with 85 runs off 39 balls, hitting seven sixes and as many boundaries.
