Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is looking forward to playing in the Indian Premier League 2024 season. He will be making his return to the tournament after a long period of nine years. He made heads turn during the 2024 Indian Premier League auction last year.
Mitchell Starc was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping sum of INR 24.75 crore ahead of the 2024 season. He made his IPL debut in 2014, representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The pacer shared memories of playing in the tournament alongside Virat Kohli. In a promotional video for Star Sports, Mitchell Starc expressed that the Indian cricketer is a different person on and off the field. He said,
“I do remember fondly the couple of years that I had at the RCB alongside Virat. He was the captain as well. That was the first time I got to know him properly, particularly off the field. He is such a different person off the field. Such a humble and warm character off the field and then fiercely competitive on it. I remember that the most about him.”
Kolkata Knight Riders squad for IPL 2024
Shreyas Iyer will be leading the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2024 Indian Premier League season. He missed the last season due to injury. Nitish Rana led the Kolkata Knight Riders in Iyer’s absence. They finished seventh on the points table with six wins from fourteen matches. Ahead of the upcoming season, they have many new additions including, Chetan Sakariya, Mitchell Starc, and Manish Pandey.
